Amaury grew up in Auvergne, where a strong sporting culture and rugged landscapes shaped his early years.
Before fully committing to downhill mountain biking, he explored several sports, building a broad athletic foundation that defines his strength, adaptability, and competitive mindset. Unlike many of his rivals, Amaury’s path to the top followed a different trajectory. He entered UCI World Cup racing through smaller teams with limited support, progressing step by step through determination, hard work, and an unwavering belief in his potential. This journey helped forge a rider known for resilience, race intelligence, and an exceptional ability to perform under pressure. Renowned for his remarkable comebacks from serious injuries, Amaury has repeatedly demonstrated extraordinary mental strength and an ability to rebuild and return to the highest level. His career includes two UCI Downhill World Cup Overall titles and thirteen UCI World Cup victories, confirming his place among the fastest riders in the world. Beyond racing, Amaury has a deep connection to everything on two wheels—a passion passed down from his parents, who rode enduro motorcycles together. When he’s not on a bike, he finds balance in nature, hiking through mountain peaks, often far from marked paths, where freedom, exploration, and a genuine appreciation of life come together. A key rider for the COMMENCAL / MUC‑OFF by Riding Addiction team, Amaury continues to push his limits season after season, driven by perseverance, resilience, and an uncompromising pursuit of excellence.
